Worldwide growth in network cameras continues to outpace sales of analogue cameras in 2013. The sales of network video cameras are fuelling the continual growth in surveillance equipment throughout the world.
According to the IMS the world market in surveillance equipment grew by 10% between 2011 and 2012.
Jon Cropley, principal analyst for video surveillance at IMS said,
“This year, the global analogue space will be broadly flat while the network market will grow by more than 20%.”
By 2017 it is predicted that analogue cameras will outsell network video cameras. This is because many larger businesses and organisations have now installed network video cameras.
Competition between the sales of analogue and network video cameras remains fierce however because smaller companies are still choosing to purchase them.
Network video cameras are more expensive than analogue cameras. They have many advance features that analogue cameras do not have. Both types of security cameras continue to sell at competitive prices.
Will sales in analogue cameras overtake sales in network video cameras after 2014? Watch this space.
