Many homeowners wonder whether they should switch their burglar alarms on at night. Most because they worry about false alarms.
However, further to our post about statistics which showed that the most burglaries occur in November, there was also some interesting information in the research by Liverpool Victoria about the times of day when homes are most vulnerable.
Statistics for break ins at night
Did you know that half of break-ins take place outside the working hours of 9am - 5pm?
And almost a third happen between 10pm and 7am when people are asleep - with the busiest hour between midnight and 1am. 7% of all burglaries take place during this 60 minute interval.
If your burglar alarm is set whilst you are asleep, you know that you will be alerted if there is an intruder... before they get upstairs.
More importantly, a thief is more likely to pick an easier target if there is a property without an alarm system installed.
Spy Alarms have won awards for the least number of false alarms. Put your security in safe hands.
To protect your family, burglar alarms have been shown to be very effective at deterring burglars.
